- Taking someone off: set their months to “Off the plan.” For Medicare in February, leave 1 month.
- Adding someone: enter their age and coverage. Blue Cross prices each person by age; LBMC charges one rate for each coverage level. Spouse and children are paid by the employee.
- LBMC bills only for months someone is paid. 20 are paid every month: 14 full-time, 4 part-time, Dr. Gickling’s small W-2 and Meredith’s replacement. The 2 fill-ins count only in months they work; they’ve worked about 9 hours each so far this year. Adding someone to the plan above doesn’t change these counts; use + only for a new hire.
- LBMC’s plans are better: out-of-network care is covered, and Plan 4 has a $5,500 deductible and 20% coinsurance vs. $6,000 and 30% on Atrium.
- The Ruoccos pay their own COBRA and plan to leave January 1, so they’re not counted.
